The Board of FirstWave Cloud Technology Limited has been established to provide a blend of qualifications, skills and experience required to manage a company in a cloud-based technology environment. The Company’s aim in determining board membership is to create a balanced and informed group to assist the company in making decisions relating to all corporate and governance matters.
John brings significant experience in the technology sector, business operations and Board leadership. He has held positions including Inaugural Chair of the Australian Rugby League Commission from 2012 to 2018 and Managing Director and CEO of ASX listed technology company, Data#3 Limited, from 1996 to 2015. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Uniquest Pty Ltd, the commercialisation company of the University of Queensland, and Stadiums Queensland, the owner and operator of the Queensland Government’s $1.8 billion investment in elite and community stadia and entertainment assets.
Paul has a successful history of setting up new businesses in the IT industry in Australia and overseas. Since moving to Australia in 1989, he has been involved with the IT industry in various senior roles. Paul also runs part of the largest listed Australian enterprise software company, TechnologyOne. Paul has a strong background in IT security, application software, software development, outsourcing, cloud computing and transactional systems. His roles have included establishing MessageLabs in Australia, Galileo in New Zealand, setting up and selling a successful SAP Consultancy and growing business at a leading HRMS software company.
Mr Hwang is an experienced corporate lawyer specialising in capital markets, corporate governance and compliance. He currently serves as Principal of Automic Legal (formerly Whittens & McKeough), an Australian specialist law and corporate governance firm. He also serves as Chief Compliance Officer of Automic Group.
He has extensive expertise in legal, governance and compliance matters for ASX-listed entities across a wide range of industry sectors, including technology, and currently serves as company secretary for a number of ASX-listed companies, including LiveTiles Limited (ASX:LVT) and BikeExchange Limited (ASX:BEX). He holds a Bachelor of Laws from UNSW and is also a Notary Public.
